Messier 16 (Eagle Nebula) and Messier 17 (Swan nebula)

© Stéphane Guisard, Los Cielos de América

Messier 16 (Eagle Nebula) and Messier 17 (Swan nebula)taken with Takahashi FSQ106 refractor (diam 106mm f/5) and SBIG STL11000 CCD camera. On this picture M16 looks very much like the profile of Cérès, a roman God. Cérès appears on the first french stamp. Leave the time for the first image animated Gif to load to see the superposition of the image and Cérès profile. The normal image appears a bit lower.
