Valle de la Luna and Big Dipper
Symbol of the Northern hemisphere sky, the big Dipper can also be seen from the Northern regions of the Southern hemisphere. This image showing the big dipper "upside-down" was taken in the Valle de la Luna (Moon Valley) in the San Pedro de Atacama region, Northern Chile, at a latitude close to the tropic of Capricorn. This latitude is just enough to let the 7 main stars of the constellation to be visible.
